The last night of Shipston Proms, when the town square is closed and takes on a Festival atmosphere, is now famous. This year’s feature acts on Saturday 5th July are U2 tribute band U2UK, and folk rockers Leatherat. The Proms has another headline act this year on Friday 27th June at the Townsend Hall when Elvis hits Shipston. Lee Memphis King travels around the UK playing big theatres like the Hammersmith Apollo presenting ‘The King’ at his peak from the 1950s to the ‘Comeback Special’ and the ‘Vegas Years’. Accompanied by his orchestra and singers Lee Memphis King leaves the audience in no doubt that they are witnessing the world’s No. 1 Elvis tribute artist.

Shipston Proms chairman Tim Porter says ‘I’m delighted to get this fantastic Elvis show to Shipston. Alan Parker, the bass player and a friend of mine, lives in Shipston and it’s a great chance for him to play in front of his home crowd’.  Doors open 7.30pm. Tickets are available in advance – £18, (£20 on the door) from Clarke Electrical and Shipston Bakery or telephone Tim Porter on 01608 685332.
